Becoming a Member of Westlink

The Bible tells us that all individuals who are linked to the heart of God by His Spirit are automatically linked to one another by that same Spirit. In the Scriptures this idea is known as the family of God, or the body of Christ, or the church of Jesus.

Members of the Lord’s church are those whom He calls through the gospel, those He saved through forgiveness of sins, those to whom He gives His Holy Spirit and those He adds to His number of followers. Another way to say it is that each person who responds in faith, repentance and baptism to Jesus is forgiven, given the Holy Spirit and placed into His church by the working of God. Each disciple, Christian, is a member. The spiritual reality is then to be lived out in the life of a local congregation of believers. (Acts 2)

If you are a member of Jesus’ church and wish to be a part of this local family, you may express this to one of our ministers or one of our shepherds or any member. We will publicly announce your commitment to this family. And, we recognize you are asking for our support and love in your Christian journey. Our shepherds will then consider you part of the local family here. You will be asked to meet with them and discuss more about Westlink and our service together.

If you want to be a part of the family here but are not sure you are a Christian, then we encourage you to talk to one of our ministers, shepherds, or any member as soon as possible about this important issue.
